Senior System Engineer

The senior systems engineer will be responsible for leading the design, development, and integration of complex systems in the context of unmanned aircraft systems (UAS). They will work as a liaison between the various technical teams (mechanical, electronic, software, operations) to ensure a coherent, safe, and functional system architecture that meets customer requirements and current regulations.

This position has a cross-functional focus that involves defining requirements, traceability, system validation/verification, and managing the complete product lifecycle, from conception to delivery. It is key in making critical technical decisions and overseeing functional and integration testing.

Responsibilities

  • Define, analyze, and manage system requirements at the client, subsystem, and interface levels.
  • Lead the architecture and functional design of complex systems.
  • Coordinate the integration between subsystems (mechanical, electronic, software, communications).
  • Manage the traceability of requirements, risks, and corrective actions.
  • Supervise verification and validation (V&V) plans and procedures.
  • Collaborate with certification and quality assurance teams to ensure regulatory compliance.
  • Participate in technical reviews, internal audits, and design reviews.
  • Keep the technical documentation of the system updated (requirements matrices, specifications, functional diagrams).

Must have

  • Bachelor's degree in Aeronautical Engineering, Systems, Electronics, Telecommunications, or similar.
  • Master's in Systems Engineering, Project Management, or equivalent (desirable).
  • Minimum 6-8 years of experience in complex systems engineering, preferably in the aerospace or aeronautics sector.
  • Experience in regulated environments (DO-178, DO-254, ARP4754A, ISO 15288). 
  • Experience leading multidisciplinary projects.
  • Deep knowledge of systems engineering methodologies (MBSE, V-model, SysML).
  • Experience with requirements management tools (DOORS, Polarion, Jama).
  • Knowledge of distributed architectures, embedded systems, and communication protocols.
  • Ability to lead system integration and validation processes.
  • Skill in systems modeling and functional simulation.

Desirable

  • INCOSE CSEP certification or equivalent.
  • Knowledge of functional safety standards (IEC 61508, ISO 26262).
  • Experience in UAS, defense, or space projects.
  • Knowledge in redundant systems, security, and cybersecurity.
  • Experience in test automation and continuous integration.
